- If you bring your Ring to our office, please bring your driver’s license.
- If you are mailing your Ring to us: Please insure the package for the current value of the Ring. Include the following in the package:

- A letter of explanation
- PLEASE NOTE: All Rings are cleaned and polished during the repair process and minor nicks and dents are buffed out unless you specifically request Balfour not to do so.
- Your address and daytime phone number
- The cost of the repair, if applicable, and $10.00 for shipping your Ring to Balfour.
- If your Ring needs to be shipped back to you, please include a physical address and the appropriate fee. Rings are shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight and will require a signature upon delivery.

Resizing
- Rings under warranty can be resized free of charge.
- Resizing a Ring not under warranty or that was manufactured prior to 1972 costs $16.24.
- Resizing and Refinishing a Ring not under warranty or that was manufactured prior to 1972 costs $32.48.
- If the Ring has a diamond that was set by someone other than Balfour, a "Diamond Release" must be signed that states "I will not hold Balfour liable if the diamond in my ring is damaged or destroyed during the process of resizing/repairing my ring."
- Resizing your Aggie Ring may require re-engraving your name.
- If your Ring must be re-engraved, the current style will be used because hand engraving (used prior to 1998) is no longer available.
- Rings being resized more than 2 sizes require a new ring to be made.
Finish
- If your Ring is under warranty, the original finish will be restored at no charge.
- If you would like to change the finish on your Ring from Natural to Antique the cost is $16.24.
- If you would like to change the finish on your Ring from Antique to Natural, a new ring must be made. Please refer to the remake section for pricing.
- If you are changing from White gold to Yellow gold or vice versa, a new ring must be made. Please refer to the remake section for pricing.
Change of Engraving
- Re-engraving a Ring costs $16.24.
- The A&M Script will be used because hand engraving (used prior to 1998) is no longer available.
Remake
- A damaged or worn-out ring may be traded in for a new Ring.
- Remake prices are as follows:
- Rings purchased prior to 1998 - the entire Ring must be turned in:
- Men’s 10K: $76.86
- Men’s 14K: $86.60
- Women’s 10K: $67.12
- Women’s 14K: $72.53
- Rings purchased prior to 1998 - if the top piece is missing:
- Men's 10K: $243
- Men's 14K: $346
- Women's 10K: $150
- Women's 14K: $189
- Rings purchased 1998 and after:
- Men's 10K or 14K: $43.30
- Women's 10K or 14K: $43.30
- The same gold cannot be used to remake the new Ring.
- If changing from 10K to 14K, the remake fee plus the current price difference between 10K and 14K will be charged.
- If changing from 14K to 10K, no refund will be issued.
- Prior to 1998, Aggie Rings were manufactured in two pieces (the ring band and the top piece were soldered together). All Rings manufactured in 1998 and after are made in one solid mold.
- If the base has become damaged, worn or lost, if you need to change the class year or if you are class of '63-'66 and wish to change the lettering from "College" to "University" or vice versa, a remake is necessary.
- You cannot use another individual's Aggie Ring to remake your Ring. Aggie Ring Ownership is non-transferable.
- The owner's permission is required in writing for a remake. If someone is bringing in your Aggie Ring for you, we will need your acknowledgement before proceeding with the request. Be sure your letter or email includes the person's name, desired finish, ring size and any other changes for the remake. Also, include a daytime phone number should we have any questions. Adding a Diamond
- You can see diamond selections and pricing on the Build Your Aggie Ring page, on the side menu.
- Mounting fees:
- Men’s 10pt or 20pt is $16.24 plus the cost of the diamond.
- Men’s 25pt or 30pt is $54.13 plus the cost of the diamond (Note: Your Ring must be turned in and a new Ring will be made with a white gold shield).
- Women’s 3pt or 5pt is $16.24 plus the cost of the diamond.
- Women’s 10pt is $54.13 plus the cost of the diamond (Note: Your Ring must be turned in and a new Ring will be made with a white gold shield).
Change of Class Year
- The Aggie Ring Office must approve any class year changes.
- Balfour will change the graduation date on your Ring prior to graduation at no charge. If the year is changed after graduation, the remake fee will apply.
- All rings that require a change in class year must be remade.

Repair Policy
- The following work can be performed by Balfour:
- Resizing (within limitations – up or down 2 sizes).
- Restore the original finish on your Ring or change the finish.
- Repair palm side (except in some instances)
- Reattach base(top) on any Ring manufactured prior to April 1998
- Change class year (requires a new Ring to be made)
- Change lettering to read College rather than University, or from University to College (requires a new Ring to be made)
- Change engraving
- Add a Balfour diamond (requires a new ring if the ring diamond is set in a white gold shield
- Aggie Rings sent directly to Balfour for repair:
- To save time and postage expense, students/former students who have Balfour Rings may mail their ring directly to Balfour. Balfour will notify you of the charge(s) when applicable.
- It is highly recommended that you ship the ring through the U.S. Postal Service by registered mail, with insurance, for the current replacement value. Should there be a diamond mounted in the Aggie Ring, please include the amount of the diamond in the total registered value. Please be aware that other shippers (i.e. Airborne Express, UPS, Federal Express, etc. either may not have insurance available or coverage up to the full replacement value.)
- If your ring has a diamond that was installed by someone other than Balfour, the Aggie Ring is not covered by Balfour manufacturer's warranty. The owner of the ring must sign a written release and pay all applicable repair fees before the ring will be repaired. The release must state that the owner of the ring will not hold Balfour responsible for any damage/loss of the diamond during the repair process.
- If your Ring is being remade, a release must be signed stating that the owner understands that the new Ring will be a one-piece Ring and the original gold cannot be used.
- Please include a detailed letter of instruction to Balfour which includes:
- The specific adjustments to be made to your Aggie Ring.
- Your daytime telephone number.
- The mailing address the ring is to be returned to, and a check to Balfour for any applicable repair or shipping and handling fees. (Balfour currently charges a $9.74 shipping and handling fee)
- When applicable, the diamond release or remake release.
- Repair Pricing/Detailed Information
- Repair and shipping fees are due in advance. You will be notified of the applicable charge(s) if the Ring, or requested repair, is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
- There is no charge for returning a Ring to Balfour for correction of a factory error or replacement due to a defect, providing that an independent jeweler has not worked on the Ring.
- Remake: A damaged or worn-out ring may be traded in for a new Ring (this greatly reduces the cost of the new Ring).
- The entire Ring must be submitted when a remake is requested.
- The same gold cannot be used in the making of the new Ring.
- All Rings are currently made as one piece Rings.
- If part of the ring is missing, the full purchase price must be paid and the damaged ring can be traded-in for a scrap gold refund of approximately $28.00 for women's rings and $85.00 for men's rings.
- Shipping for Repair Rings brought directly to the Ring Office:
- In addition to the individual repair charges listed above, a $10.00 shipping and handling fee is charged for the Ring Office to mail the ring to Balfour.
- Once the ring is repaired, it is returned to the Ring Office for distribution.
- If the ring must be shipped to the customer, there is an additional charge for FedEx shipment within the lower 48 states, Alaska & Hawaii. The fee for international shipping, when available, must be determined by the Aggie Ring Office. Any Customs' duty and taxes must also be paid by the addressee upon receipt of the package.
- A valid driver's license must be presented to the Ring Office before any transaction can be made to determine ownership of the Ring. Upon the return of the ring from Balfour, the same ID must be presented to take delivery of the ring.
